Founded by Eastman students in the Fall of 2003, the Catholic Newman Community
of Eastman has grown from a group of five students to its present-day membership
of over thirty. CNCE offers numerous opportunities to the Eastman community
including: weekly scripture study and faith conversations with Fr. Robert
Kennedy, annual retreats to the Abbey of the Genesee, a Catholic social environment,
a connection for Eastman students to local parishes including the Newman Community
of the University of Rochester, and community service events. CNCE's goal
is to not only help fulfill the needs of Eastman Catholics, but to bring about
better awareness and fuller understanding of Catholicism to the larger Eastman
community.
