One way to become involved as a
student leader is to join the Newman Community Steering Committee. The
Committee is an advisory board to the pastor and staff, and fulfills a role
similar to a parish or pastoral council in a non-university parish.
Other ways to become involved as
a student leader include serving as a lector or Eucharistic minister at Sunday
mass, becoming a schedule coordinator for liturgical ministry, joining the
Newman Service Committee, serving as a sacristan on Sundays, or helping to
staff one of the retreats offered by the Newman Community.
If you would like to serve in any
of these capacities, or would like to offer your gifts and talents to the
community in another way, please talk to one of the Newman staff members in
person or send an email to leadership@urnewman.org.
