The Newman Community sponsors a local trip that exposes participants to issues facing migrant farm workers. The trip is based out of Brockport, NY, and students worked with several agencies who work with or provide service to the migrant community, including Rural and Migrant Ministry. Participants finish their time on the trip with a better understanding of current issues facing those in our community who are often marginalized, despite the enormous role they play as harvesters of our daily food.
The trip also includes an overnight outing to Toronto, Canada, and is an experience that can benefit for a lifetime.
